After a long two days of rest over the weekend, I find it difficult at times to get the same motivation I have throughout the week to workout. Partially to blame is the amount of rest and laziness that I find myself indulging in over the weekends. While my idea of lazy is not sitting around on the couch all day watching television, I do find that I start to lose the motivation to get back in the workout routine come Monday.
Rest days are hard to take when I have been pushing so hard in the gym. While a necessary part of the recovery process, still it seems that they sap my energy level. So how do I overcome this? Simple. I just get out there and do it! Once I have, I want more and more.
I have found out that the more I workout, the more I want to work out. The adrenaline rush, the feel good of the pump, the sweat dripping off me like I have been playing in the pool, I love it. So when the end of the week comes around, and I get into the “lazy” mode of the weekend, I shall once more repeat the process and push myself forward.
